Hari ini merupakan hari kesepuluh sejak kita digemparkan dgn kejadian tanah runtuh di salah satu kediaman elit di ibu negara, Bukit Antarabangsa..
My sincere sympathy goes to those affected in the incident, especially those who lost their loved ones.. May they rest in peace..
And also those who totally lost their home.. Yeah I know, knowing the status of the residents there, they might have another house, in fact maybe more than one other houses.. But still, no one deserved such losses..
But somehow.. as I follow the coverage from day to day, it became more n more ridiculous..
First of all, the reaction of the gov.. needless to say, the whole script from the highland towers episode came back out again.. N God knws who would research what.. who would implement what, who would take action against what, who would want what n the parade goes on n on..
On the other hand, these folks, even though not all, seems to be blaming the gov entirely for the mishap.. Yes I agree that the gov didnt really do their job of ensuring the safety of the area, that something fishy must have happened somewhere that these projects got approved, that the Garis Panduan Pembangunan Kawasan Tanah Tinggi and the Garis Panduan Pembangunan Kawasan Bukit or whatever garis panduan that they have which suppose to ensure the safety of the development in such areas must have been overlooked, etc etc etc..
Nevertheless, the people who live there, choose to live there.. I mean, even a six-yr-old kids nowadays (we talk about kids of the internet era which are way smarter than my childhood kind of kids) could question the safety of such area, let alone the well-educated professionals that could be found there.. Some more there have been cases.. Highland Towers, Kampung Pasir, that ex-general-of-somthing’s house.. Wasnt it obvious?
Yeah I agree that the government has, and I mean HAS to do something about this.. But if the demand is still there, I dont think these kind of things would stop..
Let us no be the one that wont learn from history.. Cos as the wisers say, those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it..
Meanwhile, just little funny things to share, some of these folks are amusing too.. how could they ask for a free accomodation at hotels as compensation, whereas mangsa2 banjir semua dok kat balai raya je.. n the best joke was when this one victim got interviewd by a reporter friend of mine in the chaos, he was furious when addressed as encik.. think the line was more or less like this..
“apa encik2.. i’m a doctor u know.. address me as a dr..”
Can u imagine how funny these ppl are?
